The Rotary Million Mask Challenge:  Our Club has secured 5,000 masks for distribution to those in need in our community.  Our club has decided to allocate a majority of these masks to volunteers at the local soup kitchens and food pantries.   Thank you Frank Seibert & Jo-Ann Boettcher for heading up this effort!!
 
 
 
 
 
Call for Volunteers to fill Board of Directors positions:   Club Service is one of the 5 Avenues of Service and is a great way to strengthen comradery and get to know your fellow Rotarians.  We will be in need of a Secretary & Membership Chairperson.  For more information,  reply to this email or visit My Rotary.
 
 
Community Garden @ The Conklin House - The Conklin House is using their back yard area to create a community garden.  Our club will be provided with a plot to cultivate.  We plan on donating the fruits of our labor to a local soup kitchen.  If you would like to join the Community Garden Committee,  please email Megan Noble (megannoble@garveypropertiesli.com).   The anticipated time commitment is 1 hour per month. 
 
 
Scholarship Committee Update:  The Scholarship Committee, led by Marc Horowitz,  has announced that it has begun the search for our 2021 Ferdinand Gutmann Scholarship Award recipients.  Each year our club acknowledges an outstanding group of youngsters that represent each of the high schools in our service area.  Thank you Scholarship Committee for your effort!
 
Update from Golf Outing Committee:  Neil Weingarten has reported that our annual Charity Golf Outing is on for 2021!!!!  Tentatively scheduled for July 13, we will again be collaborating with the Rotary Clubs of Bay Shore, Islip & Syosset-Woodbury. Our annual Charity Gold Outing is the primary fundraiser for our Scholarship Fund.  Thank you Neil!  Here are some memories from past golf outings... 
 
                                            
 
  
New Official Cause of Rotary!:  Protecting the Environment has been added as an official cause of Rotary.  Other Rotary causes are; Promoting Peace, Fighting Disease, Providing Clean Water, Sanitation & Hygene, Saving Mothers & Children, Supporting Education & Growing Local Economies!   For more information about Official Rotary Causes, visit here
