RYLA Student Needs Help with Community Service Project! - One of the Avenues of Service of the Rotary Club is Youth Service.  Positive change within our community can be implemented by youth and young adults involved in leadership development activities and community service projects.  One of our RYLA students is looking to looking to beautify the small patch of grass in from of the West Islip Acres sign in northern West Islip and is looking for some guidance and help from a Rotarian.  Does anyone want to volunteer to assist her? Please respond to this newsletter.

Today's Program, Update from Good Samaritan Hospital -  At our last meeting, the club met with John McMurray, Chief Operating Officer, Joseph Loiacono, Sr. VP of Planning & Development & Justin Jaycon, Director of Public & Community Relations where we received an in depth and thorough briefing of the new Patient Care Pavilion.  Good Samaritan Hospital is an integral sponsorship partner to many community  & non profit organizations in Babylon & West Islip.  The theme of their new project is Shaping the Future of Healthcare which means larger spaces for patients and better technology & design.  The new 6 story 300,000 sq ft building was designed along side clinicians to ensure a more useful and intelligent design. Elevators are larger and operating rooms & imaging technology has been strategically placed in areas more convenient for both patients and doctors.    While maintaining the same number of beds, the hospital has set out to provide more space for patients & their families in every area of the hospital.  Private hospital rooms have been expanded to 225 sq ft each & include private bathrooms as well as pull out sofa beds for family members!  Having a top notch facility will help attract the best doctors in the region to our local community.  Click the READ MORE link below for video information from Good Samaritan Hospital.
