From the Desk of President Megan Noble:  "We had a great meeting on Wednesday, with speaker Lonnie Sherman, of General Needs.  His organization goes above and beyond to take care of our most vulnerable veterans.  As a club we decided to donate $1000 to his fundraiser this Sunday.  There are two tickets available to his event at Miko's Sushi bar in Northport. If interested, please email me at Megannoble@garveypropertiesli.com or call or text 631-875-5509. First come, first serve."

This week's presentation:  Lonnie Sherman from General Needs

Lonnie started General Needs 12 years ago and was headquartered in his basement.  He was inspired to act when he found out that many veterans lack basic necessities like socks, underwear & tshirts.  Since that time the organizations has grown to supply meals, toiletries and emotional support across multiple states.

General Needs provides the following items to needy veterans and their families;
- underwear, socks & t-shirts
- towels, washclothes & blankets
- toiletries: soap, shampoo, shaving & dental kits
- footwear: flipflops, sneakers & boots
- warm weather gear: shorts, collared polo shirts and summer graphic tees
- cold weather gear: coats, sweatshirts, thermal underwear, hats, scarves & gloves
They do not accept used clothing.
